Introduction to Altaona Golf & Country Village, Murcia

Also referred to as Altaona Golf, this up and coming resort is located in the Murcia Region of Spain on the mediterranean Costa Calida. Its position at the foot of the Sierra de Carrascoy natural park offers a stunning mountainous landscape and a tranquil environment. You will also find many breathtaking beaches just a short drive away as well as Murcia city and Murcia International Airport both around a 10 minute drive away. The Golf Course

One of the main attractions on offer at Altaona Golf & Country Village is the fantastic 18 hole golf course. The golf course was designed by Stirling & Martin Golf Architects and winds through the centre of the resort like a green corridor between buildings. The course has been integrated within the gently rolling natural terrain, sparsely covered with vegetation, providing an ideal environment for a pleasant and leisurely golfing experience with an easy walk. 

The course has been described as ‘challenging, but not cumbersome’ making it ideal for players of all abilities. It has a fun and strategic layout with many trees, lakes and strategic bunkers for those that play with accuracy and enjoy a challenge. 

There is also a driving range located close to the first tee.

Leisure Facilities & Amenities

As well as the fantastic 18 hole golf course, Altaona Golf & Country Village has much to offer and the modernisations and future ‘masterplan’ for the resort mean there will soon be even more.

It could be said that the heart of Altaona Golf is ‘The Parador’, a traditional Spanish square being brought back to its former glory. The stunning square has been designed to ensure the beauty and charm of the 300 year old Spanish farm that once stood here, remains and features a traditional mediterranean style chapel with a bell tower. The Parador provides a wonderful meeting place within the resort, with restaurants, shops and other amenities surrounding it.

You will find a lovely clubhouse with a restaurant, bar and golf pro shop. For the sport lovers, you will find padel, tennis and multi sport courts to be enjoyed. 

The resorts surrounding area is also popular for those who enjoy hiking due to the many trails you will find in the mountains and nature reserve. It is also ideal terrain for mountain bikes. 

As part of the resorts ‘masterplan’ there will be more exciting new facilities as development continues, including additional bars and restaurants, a hotel, supermarket, gym, spa and much more.
